Your invitation to our October 2007 network forum
Come and join us on 10 October 2007 at the TMSDI network forum, exclusively for network members. Our event takes place in central London, and will explore issues around talent, teams and leadership.
Talent
Anton Franckeiss, GFI Consulting will introduce GFI's exciting new talent management approach, being pioneered by a major global IT corporation, which focuses on getting senior level people who have played a key business role to rejoin. Find out how the Team Management Profile can help them win the war on talent.
Teams
Rob Lewis, Mission Performance, will share his experiences of working with Royal Bank of Scotland in shaping and then executing a first class team development programme using the Team Management Profile.
Leadership
Nick Davies, Capstone International Limited, will discuss Capstone's work to develop the potential and performance of leaders in organisations from healthcare and financial services through to giants in FMCG and world class sporting teams, and the role of the Team Management Profile in these interventions.
On the day
The day runs from 10am until 4pm to make your travelling easier. Enjoy an informal networking lunch with other network members.
The venue for the day is still to be confirmed, but will be in central London, and easily accessible.
If you joined us before, you'll know our network events offer a lively and stimulating day, and are always popular. Places are £95 + VAT, and are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Following a welcome by our Managing Director Catherine Hick, Independent Consultant Jayne Mallon delivered an interactive insight into the ways in which HR can contribute to partner selection. Her practical demonstration of how "assessors" and "assessees" work together proved to be a perfect ice-breaker for the day.
The "assessed" were divided into groups and given the task of building "the tallest freestanding structure" with the materials available to them (plastic straws and a box of clothes pins!), whilst their team working skills were judged by the "assessors". |
This demonstration served as a reminder that in selection practice for individuals, that the most reliable method to assess competence and fit is to observe the competences in action rather than read it from a CV: i.e. to see the integrated teams working together before the appointment! Our second key speaker of the day was Dr Neslyn Watson-Druée. As the Director of Beacon Organisational Development, Neslyn is not only one of our Master Trainers, but has been awarded an MBE for her services to nursing and training.
Her current role is as a management coach for leadership development in the NHS; in particular encouraging minority ethnic groups to step into positions of leadership. Neslyn's passion for the Types of Work Profile in particular was a key focus; and she described how she has utilised it in conjunction with the Team Management and Opportunity Orientation (QO2®) Profiles for job review, job design, and performance appraisals. Our case study of Beacon Organisational Development can be viewed at www.tmsdi.com/applications.

Captain Sean Chapple was our final keynote speaker, relaying his inspirational experience from his expeditions to the North and South Poles. Sean and his team used the Team Management Profile to compliment his leadership style and increase team effectiveness in the planning, preparation and execution of the Polar Quest project. This was to be the first and longest journey to the Antarctic in British military history, and is perhaps one of the most extreme examples of team selection and forging high performing teams that we have encountered. Uncover the whole story at www.tmsdi.com/applications.
